Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Major Content Update with Street Fighter Collaboration

Tokyo, Japan – Director Yuya Tokuda announced a significant update for Monster Hunter Wilds, set to launch on May 28, 2025. This update, known as Ver. 1.011, will introduce a special collaboration with Street Fighter 6, featuring the character Akuma.

The collaboration will offer players a full Akuma armor set along with a layered armor variant. When equipped with either set, players will gain access to new abilities including Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken. According to Tokuda, using these attacks effectively can help players tackle tougher monsters.

In addition to the collaboration, the update will unveil new eight-star tempered monsters, including Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad, available for hunting at Hunter Rank 41 and above. These beasts will provide additional challenge with increased resilience and adjustments for multiplayer gameplay.

Tokuda highlighted further enhancements, mentioning a focus on player balance across various weapons, including the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, and Bowguns. Changes have been made to improve gameplay, while also introducing more frequent higher-difficulty quests.

Quality of life improvements include the ability to rest at designated hubs to restore camps, and adjustments to item notifications that will prevent clutter during gameplay. Players will now also be able to view their captured endemic life in more detail.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been praised for its engaging environments and gameplay, and Tokuda expresses enthusiasm for the upcoming changes. “We want to provide more great content for you to enjoy as well as make various adjustments to make Monster Hunter Wilds even more fun to play,” he said.
