Countdown Action Series Ackles Dane Camacho

LOS ANGELES, CA – The highly anticipated action series Countdown is set to premiere on June 25 on Prime Video. Starring Jensen Ackles, Charles Michael Davis, and Jessica Camacho, the show promises thrilling episodes with high stakes.

The official trailer reveals Ackles as Mark Meachum, a member of an elite team and under the command of Davis’ character Nathan Blythe. Together, they aim to avert a potential disaster described as a ‘Chernobyl-level event’ threatening Los Angeles.

While the seriousness of their mission looms, the trailer also showcases moments of levity. One exchange highlights the dynamic between Ackles’ Mark and Camacho’s Amber Oliveras. Mark asks Amber, ‘I was just checking to see how you were after that bomb went off in our face last night,’ to which she quickly responds, ‘Ready to rock.’

In a decisive tone, Davis’ character underscores the importance of their mission, telling the team, ‘You are the best, or I would not have selected you. Our mission could prevent another 9/11.’

The trailer features intense action, including body slams, shootouts, and dramatic escapes. It concludes with Ackles’ Mark proclaiming, ‘If I’m going out, I’m going out saving something.’

The show centers around an LAPD detective, Meachum, who is tasked with investigating the murder of a Homeland Security officer. As he collaborates with undercover agents from various law enforcement branches, they quickly discover a more sinister plot than they anticipated.

In a recent interview, Ackles hinted at the familiarity fans might see in his character, stating, ‘There’s probably going to be some familiarity from that fandom with this guy.’

This series also marks a significant milestone for Davis, who recently announced his diagnosis of ALS. He expressed gratitude for his supportive family during this challenging time, adding, ‘I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working.’

Countdown, created by Derek Haas, will launch with three episodes on June 25, with new episodes released weekly on Wednesdays, culminating in the season finale on September 3.
