Oliveira Aims for UFC Title in June Fight Against Topuria

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is set to headline the International Fight Week against Ilia Topuria on June 28. Oliveira, who is looking to reclaim his title, has received support from fellow fighters as he prepares for the challenge.
Mateusz Gamrot, the No. 7-ranked lightweight contender, expressed confidence in Oliveira ahead of the fight. “Very interesting matchup. Both guys have power and skills to get the win. Ilia can knock him out. But Oliveira has a lot of good tools to beat Ilia,” Gamrot said.
Oliveira, known as ‘Do Bronx’, has faced top competitors in the 155-pound division and has a reputation for overcoming the odds. He believes his experience and size will work to his advantage in the fight against Topuria. “I fought against Justin Gaethje, and everyone said he was the guy who hit harder. I believe in the power of fire in the hands that I have,” Oliveira remarked.
Despite being regarded as the underdog, Oliveira is not fazed and stated, “I don’t care much about what people say.” He plans to withstand whatever Topuria throws at him during the fight at the T-Mobile Arena.
Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White recently announced that the next title fight for the lightweight division would take place at UFC 317, fueling excitement for the championship bout. Fans and analysts alike are eagerly anticipating the showdown as both fighters prepare to leave it all in the Octagon.
