HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Netflix has announced that its new comedy series, ‘Leanne,’ will premiere on July 31, 2025. The show, created by Chuck Lorre and Susan McMartin, stars comedian Leanne Morgan and follows her character’s life changes after her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman.

In ‘Leanne,’ the titular character faces the challenges of starting over as a grandmother going through menopause. As described in the series’ logline, with support from her family, Leanne strives to navigate her new life with ‘grace, dignity, and jello salad.’

The show features a strong ensemble cast that includes Kristen Johnston as Leanne’s sister, Carol, alongside Blake Clark, Celia Weston, Graham Rogers, and Hannah Pilkes. Tim Daly, Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez, and Blake Gibbons will make recurring appearances.

Chuck Lorre, known for creating hits like ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Two and a Half Men,’ expresses his excitement about working with Morgan. He stated, “If you’ve seen even 10 seconds of Leanne Morgan’s stand-up, then you know what a unique comedic force she is. The theme of starting over is universal, and I cannot think of anyone better to combine heart and comedy than Leanne.”

In a press release, Morgan shared her own enthusiasm, saying, “I’ve dreamed of this since childhood… It just goes to show you it’s never too late, and dreams do come true.”

‘Leanne’ is expected to consist of 16 episodes, all available for binge-watching on the premiere date.
