The Accountant 2 Streams on Prime Video Beginning June 5

Los Angeles, CA – Amazon MGM Studios announced Monday that The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, will begin streaming globally on Thursday, June 5. The announcement comes after an April theatrical release that grossed over $100 million worldwide.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the sequel builds on the story from 2016’s The Accountant, which introduced Affleck as Christian Wolff, a talented accountant who solves complex problems. In this sequel, Wolff faces a gripping case after an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving a cryptic message to “find the accountant.” In a desperate move, he enlists the help of his estranged brother Brax, played by Bernthal.
The cast also includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson as U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina, along with Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. The film is produced by Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams, with a screenplay by Bill Dubuque.
The first film earned $155 million and became a top-rented digital film, establishing a strong fanbase. The sequel, utilizing an $80 million budget, has received positive reviews, holding a 76% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences giving it a 92% rating.
The Accountant 2 is set to be available for streaming on various devices through Prime Video, which offers an all-in-one membership that includes access to a catalog of movies and shows.
Amazon MGM Studios has not yet announced plans for a third installment, but O’Connor has expressed interest in continuing the franchise. Filming for the sequel began in early 2024, with hopes that it will attract viewers similar to its predecessor.
