James Bond Video Game Announcement

Stockholm, Sweden – IO Interactive today announced 007 First Light during the PlayStation State of Play event. This new action-adventure game will explore James Bond‘s origin, set to release in 2026.

At just 26 years old, Bond is reimagined as a Royal Navy air crewman. An act of bravery sees him recruited for MI6‘s elite training program. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity,” said IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak. “This will show Bond as the young man he was, still learning how to navigate the world of espionage.”

Players will experience an original story that combines stealth, combat, and race-driving elements. Locations will range from snowy mountains to vibrant beaches. The game features familiar characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny, alongside new characters including Bond’s mentor, John Greenway.

The gameplay promises varied approaches to challenges, whether through combat, stealth, or diplomatic charm. Players will need to master sophisticated gadgets to tackle missions across the globe.

Utilizing the Glacier engine, 007 First Light will take advantage of PlayStation 5 Pro’s advanced features, including improved graphics and performance, running at 60 FPS.

IO Interactive plans to share further details later this year, as anticipation builds for the return of one of cinema’s most iconic characters to the gaming world.
