Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood Clear the Air on their ‘White Lotus’ Connection

LOS ANGELES, CA — Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood recently opened up about their relationship following the conclusion of HBO’s “The White Lotus” Season 3. In a candid interview on June 4, the two actors addressed rumors of a feud and their emotional connection.
Goggins, who portrayed Rick Hackett, stated, “There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me.” The two met through a text message from their producer, David Bernad, before starting the project, and their chemistry was immediate.
Recalling their first encounter, Wood laughed, saying, “He said, ‘I’m Scorpio,’ and I said, ‘I’m Scorpio moon.’” Goggins confirmed the moment with a nod, indicating their instant bond. They expressed their affection for each other, with Goggins describing Wood as “special” and a huge talent.
During filming in Thailand, Goggins needed space to process the emotional departure from his character, leading to a temporary distance between him and the cast, including Wood. Both actors shared that they often felt overwhelmed by the intensity of the filming environment, with Goggins revealing he felt alone in his process.
After the finale, which aired in early May, Goggins expressed regret at not being able to watch it with Wood, especially since a significant love scene between their characters was cut. “It was so cathartic and so painful, and I regret that,” he said.
Wood added, “We actually designed a whole journey for our characters, even down to the intimate scene that was left out.” Despite the emotional ups and downs, both actors characterized their relationship as one of deep mutual understanding.
The two have seen each other only once since filming wrapped, with Goggins working extensive hours on a new project. In their interview, they reminisced fondly, noting how close they grew during production.
Goggins acknowledged that they often grabbed meals together while shooting but noted that they felt a need to maintain their focus on their roles. “We’d run in, grab food, and run out,” Wood described. Their dynamic became a cherished part of the filming experience.
Addressing the ongoing speculation about their relationship on social media, Wood commented, “Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? We don’t give a shite about Instagram,” emphasizing the importance of their artistic collaboration rather than online perceptions.
By the end of the interview, both actors expressed their commitment to maintaining their friendship. “We will be friends for fucking ever,” Goggins asserted. As they parted, the bond they formed during filming was clear, leaving behind any misunderstandings.
