PGA Tour’s Canadian Open Offers $9.8 Million Prize Pool

Caledon, Ontario — The 2025 RBC Canadian Open kicked off on Thursday, June 5, at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. This prestigious event features some of the world’s top golfers competing for a total purse of $9.8 million, which will be awarded through Sunday, June 8.
The champion of this year’s tournament will receive a hefty $1.764 million. The runner-up will earn $1,068,200, while third place will take home $676,200. The total prize money has increased by $400,000 compared to last year, when the purse stood at $9.4 million.
Defending champion Robert MacIntyre is back at TPC Toronto, aiming to retain his title against a field that includes notable players like Rory McIlroy, who returns after a disappointing PGA Championship. The tournament is crucial as it precedes the 125th US Open next week.
Among the 65 players making the cut, each has a chance to earn significant prize money. Notably, even the player finishing last among the cut players is guaranteed a payout of $21,070, reflecting the event’s lucrative nature.
The RBC Canadian Open is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour, ranking as the 17th most lucrative in terms of prize money this season. The competition is fierce, but the rewards are substantial, including valuable FedEx Cup points and the chance for players to boost their world ranking.
The tournament is held for the first time at TPC Toronto’s North Course, designed by Doug Carrick and recently renovated. Fans and participants alike are eager to see who will shine as the tournament unfolds through Sunday.
