Rod Stewart Concert Illness News

LOS ANGELES, CA — Legendary British musician Rod Stewart has canceled several upcoming US tour dates due to a sudden illness. The 80-year-old singer, known for hits like “Baby Jane” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy,” announced his health issues in an Instagram post on June 7.

Stewart revealed he is currently recovering from the flu and expressed his regret to fans, stating, “So sorry, my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage, and will see you.” His doctor has advised him to remain on bed rest during his recovery.

This news is particularly disappointing for Stewart’s fans, as he has plans to retire from extensive touring at the end of this year in favor of more intimate performances. There is also uncertainty surrounding his attendance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival in the UK, where he is scheduled to headline with The Faces.

2025 has already been a notable year for Stewart, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Music Awards in May. During his acceptance speech, he shared memories from his over five-decade career, emphasizing his enduring passion for music despite the lack of desire for fame or wealth.

Earlier this year, Stewart faced another setback while on tour. During a trip to Italy, he was seen wearing a sign that read, “Sorry. Cannot talk. Having vocal rest.” Despite these challenges, he remains hopeful about his future in music, confirming on Instagram that he is not retiring, but simply scaling back his schedule. “I love what I do, and do what I love,” Stewart stated.

Looking ahead, Stewart has teased several projects, including a documentary and an album with former members of The Faces to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary. In an April interview, drummer Kenney Jones confirmed his involvement in the upcoming album, which will feature around 11 tracks and is being recorded in London, with a release expected next year.
