Bloober Team’s success with Silent Hill 2, which sold over 2 million copies, likely influenced Konami’s decision to greenlight this new project. An IGN poll indicated that more than 61% of 20,000 voters favored a remake of the original Silent Hill.

In February, Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, stated, “Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself.” He mentioned the importance of creating high-quality productions through their partnership.

The first Silent Hill was released in 1999, allowing players to experience the chilling story of Harry Mason searching for his missing adopted daughter, Cheryl, in the terrifying town of Silent Hill.

The Silent Hill 2 remake received positive reviews, with Metacritic scores of 86/100 and numerous awards, including IGN Japan’s Game of the Year 2024. Its success has led to an increased focus on the Silent Hill franchise, with multiple games in development.
