Gainesville Gas Prices Dip to $3.04 Per Gallon

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The average price of gasoline in the Gainesville area dropped nine cents over the past week to $3.04 per gallon, according to the latest numbers released by AAA on Thursday.
This decrease follows a price of $3.13 last week. The average price throughout Florida also fell, dropping from $3.08 to $2.98. Nationally, gas prices saw a slight reduction, moving from $3.14 to $3.12.
As of Thursday, the national average for a gallon of gas stands at $3.12, which is just one cent higher than last month’s average of $3.13. In comparison, last year’s average price was significantly higher at $3.45 per gallon.
In Gainesville, the price last month was also recorded at $3.04 per gallon, while a year ago it was $3.34. Statewide, Florida’s prices have also shown a decrease from $3.27 last year to the current average of $2.98.
