Vehicle Crash Damages Great Falls Fire Station

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A Great Falls fire station was damaged Wednesday after a collision between a city garbage truck and a red SUV.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Northwest Bypass and Sixth Street Northwest around midday on June 25, 2025. The crash was severe enough that it caused both vehicles to collide with Fire Station 2, resulting in significant damage to the north side of the facility.
According to Great Falls Fire Rescue, one person was transported to a hospital for evaluation, but specific details about their condition have not been released. Fire crews reported that the impact affected structural elements of the station, including a support column and multiple garage doors that had been added in the last 18 months.
“The city building official is currently assessing the damage,” said GFFR Chief Jeremy Jones. “While the damage is significant, we believe the station can remain operational during the repair process.”
To secure the building, firefighters will erect a plywood wall temporarily while plans for comprehensive repairs are developed. Jones estimates that this could take about a month to complete.
The collision is under investigation, and officials are working to determine the cause. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
