Northern California Faces Showers and Thunderstorms Friday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Morning commuters in Northern California may wake up to wet roads on Friday due to scattered showers across the region. The KCRA 3 weather team has declared Friday an Impact Day, cautioning drivers to proceed with care on damp roads.
Scattered showers are expected in the Sacramento Valley and the Foothills. However, this rain activity is anticipated to taper off after noon. By the time high school football games commence Friday evening, skies should be clear and wet road conditions will have improved.
Meteorologist Tamara Berg indicated that while the Sierra Nevada is expected to experience thunderstorms with possible downpours, lightning, and small hail, rainfall in the Foothills and the Sierra will be significant throughout the day.
Friday’s forecast for downtown Sacramento shows a high of 82 degrees, which marks a decrease from the 90 degrees reported on Thursday. The average temperature for this time of year is typically around 88 degrees.
Looking ahead, the weekend forecast appears to remain dry, with temperatures gradually returning to seasonal averages. Expect a warm-up by Sunday as conditions stabilize across the region.
