China Open: Raducanu and Other Stars Ready for 2nd Round Matches

BEIJING, China — The China Open continues this weekend as Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka, and Iga Swiatek prepare for their second-round matches on Saturday.
Emma Raducanu, ranked No. 32, will face Cristina Bucsa at 7:00 PM local time. This will be the third time the two players have met, though they have never played on hard courts. Raducanu holds a 2-0 lead in their head-to-head record, winning their last match in London in June 2025.
Raducanu comes into the match with a 27-19 win-loss record this year and her best result was reaching the semifinals in Washington. Meanwhile, Bucsa, ranked No. 67, has a record of 29-26 this season and is fresh off defeating Clervie Ngounoue in the previous round.
At 5:30 PM, Naomi Osaka, ranked No. 14, will also step on the court, taking on Aliaksandra Sasnovich for the fifth time in their careers. Osaka leads their matchup 3-0, having last defeated Sasnovich in Cincinnati in 2019. This year, Osaka has a 32-13 record, with her highlights including a title win in the Open 35 de Saint Malo.
Earlier in the day, Iga Swiatek will face Yue Yuan at 1:30 PM. Ranked No. 2, Swiatek boasts a 57-13 record this season and won the China Open title in 2023. She reached the final in multiple tournaments this year, including Wimbledon and the Australian Open. In this matchup, both players will compete for the first time in their careers.
All matches are set to be held at the CAPITAL GROUP DIAMOND and LOTUS courts. With top-ranked players in action, fans can expect intense competition as the tournament progresses.
