Ghosting Drama Unfolds on Love Is Blind Season 9

DENVER, Colo. — The latest season of Netflix‘s dating show, Love Is Blind, has taken a dramatic turn as two contestants, Anna and Blake, abruptly exited the experiment, leaving their connections behind without explanation.
Anna, a 28-year-old hairstylist, was developing her bond with Patrick when she chose to leave the competition. On the same night, Patrick waited for their scheduled date, only to find her pod empty. “I started seeing myself being pretty vulnerable, and it scared me a little bit because this is an intimate part of my brain,” Anna explained in a recent interview.
Blake, a 34-year-old accountant, faced a similar situation when he learned of Anna’s departure. While he had been dating both Anna and Megan W, he realized that the experiment might not lead to a proposal. “I just realized that a proposal wasn’t in the cards for me,” he said.
The two made headlines after their unexpected exits raised questions about their emotional journeys in the pods. While Anna admitted feeling guilty for leaving, she concluded, “I don’t think I regret it because I don’t think the connections were strong enough to have a successful marriage from there.” Blake shared that he was more concerned for Anna than upset about her decision. “I think she made the right decision for herself at the moment, and I’m proud of her for doing that,” he stated.
Anna’s feelings of homesickness also played a role in her choice. With her immigrant parents worried about her well-being, she weighed heavily on her mind throughout the show. “When I told them I was going on this show, they were like, ‘Are you being kidnapped?’” she recalled.
Despite the initial excitement, both Anna and Blake ended up questioning the show’s context and whether it was worth the emotional strain. While they left for personal reasons, they did not pursue a relationship outside the show. Viewers are left wondering if this ghosting incident will have lasting effects on their romantic lives moving forward.
