La Kings Roster Opening Night

LOS ANGELES, California — The LA Kings announced their 2025-26 season-opening roster on October 7, featuring 13 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders.

The forward lineup includes Joel Armia, Quinton Byfield, Phillip Danault, Kevin Fiala, Warren Foegele, Samuel Helenius, Adrian Kempe, Anze Kopitar, Andrei Kuzmenko, Alex Laferriere, Jeff Malott, Trevor Moore, and Alex Turcotte.

Defensemen include Mikey Anderson, Cody Ceci, Brandt Clarke, Drew Doughty, Brian Dumoulin, Joel Edmundson, and Jacob Moverare, with Anton Forsberg and Darcy Kuemper in goal.

Returning veterans, Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty, are in the spotlight as they begin their newest seasons with the Kings. Doughty is just two goals away from breaking the franchise record for defenseman goals, while Kopitar is 29 points shy of Marcel Dionne‘s all-time team record.

Darcy Kuemper, the Kings’ Most Valuable Player last season, is highlighted for his impressive 31-11-7 record, with a career-low 2.02 goals against average.

This season’s roster boasts 18 players who also played last season, with several contributing to the Kings’ franchise-record 48-win campaign.

Adrian Kempe, last season’s leading scorer, enters his tenth NHL season after recording 73 points. Warren Foegele, who had 46 points and a plus-36 rating last season, looks to build on his impressive performance as well.

Quinton Byfield will enter his fifth full season with the Kings, riding on a strong preseason performance and setting personal records last year.

New additions to the roster include veteran players who bring extensive playoff experience, essential for the Kings’ competitive outlook this year.

The season kicks off on October 8 against the Colorado Avalanche at Crypto.com Arena, with a puck drop scheduled for 7:30 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to prepare for an exciting night at the home opener.
