Diwali Ball New York City Celebration 2025

New York City, USA – The Lotte New York Palace shined brightly Saturday night during the annual “All That Glitters” Diwali Ball. Organized by talent strategist Anjula Acharia, the event aims to celebrate the contributions of South Asian creatives across various industries.

This year’s ball took place on October 11, gathering about 220 guests in elaborate Desi attire. The evening included food, dance, and performances, all while honoring the Festival of Lights.

“The ball is more than a celebration—it’s a cultural movement,” Acharia said. She emphasized the importance of creating space for South Asian voices and building community through shared heritage and purpose.

Designer Falguni Peacock showcased vibrant South Asian fashion at the event, dressing notable figures like actress Bhumi Pednekar and businesswoman Bozoma Saint John. “The vibrant South Asian fashion industry is wonderfully showcased at this event,” Peacock told attendees.

Fundraising efforts from the ball benefited the South Asian Council for Social Services and King Charles’s British Asian Trust, furthering support for humanitarian initiatives worldwide.

The guest list included stars such as Priyanka Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas, Aasif Mandvi, Kal Penn, and many other prominent individuals in entertainment and business. Their presence highlighted the event’s significance to the South Asian community.

<p“The night was full of love and light, emphasizing the importance of supporting amazing organizations around the globe,” said Penn.

Guests indulged in a dinner prepared by Vikas Khanna’s restaurant, Bungalow, followed by a lively performance from the music collective Indo Warehouse. The atmosphere changed from formal to festive, as attendees danced to popular Bollywood hits.

As Diwali approaches, the All That Glitters Ball not only signifies a celebration of cultural legacy but also reflects the rising visibility of South Asian communities within the fabric of American society.

The success of the event illustrates that the celebration of cultural identity and professional accomplishments can go hand in hand, making it a night of lasting significance.
