LOS ANGELES, CA — Since its conclusion in 2018, fans of ABC’s sitcom “The Middle” have been curious about the cast’s whereabouts. The show, which chronicled the life of a lower-middle-class family in fictional Orson, Indiana, had a loyal fanbase and ran for nine seasons.

Among the cast, Patricia Heaton, who played Frankie Heck, has remained active in Hollywood. Heaton has appeared in films such as “The Unbreakable Boy” and had a recurring role on the reboot of “Frasier.” Meanwhile, Neil Flynn, who starred as Mike Heck, lent his voice to characters in animated features and was featured in NBC’s “Abby’s” in 2019.

Eden Sher, known for her role as Sue Heck, has been touring with her one-woman stage show, “Eden Sher: I Was On a Sitcom,” and participated in shows like “How I Met Your Father.” Charlie McDermott, who portrayed Axl Heck, transitioned to film, appearing in “Instant Family” and the acclaimed miniseries “Unbelievable,” and co-directed the upcoming drama “Rhubarb.”

Atticus Shaffer, the actor who played Brick Heck, became prolific in voice acting and recently made guest appearances in shows like “Never Have I Ever.” He also maintains an active YouTube channel and Twitch stream.

Other cast members have varied paths as well. Daniela Bobadilla, who played Lexie Brooks, featured in “Modern Family” and lent her voice to animated series. Alphonso McAuley, who portrayed Hutch, took on roles in both TV and film, including Netflix projects.

As for the memorable supporting characters, actors like Brian Doyle-Murray (Don Ehlert) and Jen Ray (Nancy Donahue) continue to take on new roles in various projects since the show’s end.
