Lucas Beraldo Expected to Start for Brazil Against Japan
Tokyo, Japan – Lucas Beraldo is set to make his debut as a starter for Brazil‘s national team in a friendly match against Japan on Tuesday, following a 5-0 victory over South Korea last Friday where he remained on the bench.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti has called up only one player from Paris Saint-Germain for the October international break, Lucas Beraldo, despite the defender having played just five out of ten matches with PSG this season. This opportunity comes after Ancelotti left Beraldo in Paris during the last squad selection in September.
Beraldo’s inclusion is partly due to the injury of fellow defender Alexsandro, which has opened the door for him to serve as a backup to Gabriel Magalhães in the left center-back position. This friendly match against Japan marks an important event in Beraldo’s career as he steps onto the field with the national team.
The match is set to kick off at 12:30 PM local time in Tokyo. According to GloboEsporte, Beraldo was included in Ancelotti’s starting lineup during the team’s final practice on Monday, suggesting he is likely to play a significant role.
In preparation for this match, Ancelotti plans to make eight changes to the squad compared to the last game against South Korea, with only Vinicius Junior, Bruno Guimarães, and Casemiro set to retain their spots in the team.
