Spotify Expands DJ Feature for Personalized Music Experience
New York, NY – Spotify has introduced upgrades to its DJ feature to enhance music personalization for users. Starting today, Premium users can make music requests via text in both English and Spanish, expanding the platform’s appeal to millions of Spanish-speaking listeners around the globe.
The new functionality allows users to send specific requests such as ‘clásicos de reggaetón de los 2000’ or ‘canciones tranqui para desconectarte,’ providing an innovative way to curate their listening sessions. This move comes in response to high demand for a typed request option, enabling users to interact more discreetly without needing to voice their preferences.
“Beginning today, listeners will have a new way to curate the vibe of their listening session in real-time,” a Spotify spokesperson said. The platform now also offers personalized prompt suggestions to inspire users, such as ‘reggaeton beats for an energetic afternoon’ or ‘refreshing surf rock for a midday break.’
Since its launch, the DJ feature has garnered positive feedback, with users enjoying the combination of AI-generated recommendations and human-like commentary on tracks. Spotify’s DJ is designed to adapt based on the user’s context, whether commuting or working in a quiet environment.
To utilize the new functions, users simply need to search for ‘DJ’ in the Spotify app, press play, and tap the DJ button in the bottom corner to enter their music requests. The DJ can process a wide range of requests, including genre, mood, artist, or activity-related queries.
These enhancements aim to create a more engaging and personalized music experience, reflecting Spotify’s commitment to evolving how users interact with music.
