CHICAGO, Ill. — Yuki Kawamura, a guard for the Chicago Bulls, has been ruled out for Thursday’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a lower leg injury, according to Chuck Swirsky of the Bulls Radio Network.

Kawamura, 24, will miss what is expected to be his final preseason game while he continues to deal with the injury. He was also sidelined for the Bulls’ recent games, including a loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Although Kawamura was signed to a two-way deal with Chicago in July, it appears he may spend the majority of the upcoming season in the G League. If he recovers, it’s still uncertain if he will play in the Bulls’ regular-season opener against the Detroit Pistons.

Kawamura’s recent injury has left him inactive, and this would mark the third straight game he misses due to the ongoing leg issues. Last season, while with the Memphis Grizzlies, he averaged 1.6 points in 22 regular-season games, playing just over four minutes per game.

The Bulls now must decide how to proceed with Kawamura as the regular season approaches. His recent struggles and persistent injuries will likely influence their strategy.
