Seth Rollins Faces Uncertain Future After Shoulder Injury
PERTH, Australia — Seth Rollins suffered a serious shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel on October 13, 2025. Reports indicate that the World Heavyweight Champion may require surgery to repair the damage, though the full extent of the injury remains unclear.
According to wrestling insider Dave Meltzer, the injury occurred after Rollins executed a coast-to-coast headbutt, landing awkwardly and causing his shoulder to sustain real harm. “When they open up, they’ll find out… they don’t know all the damage in his shoulder,” Meltzer stated, confirming that surgery is expected to happen.
The uncertainty surrounding Rollins’ recovery complicates WWE‘s plans for his return. Meltzer noted, “They hope he’ll be okay for WrestleMania. There’s no way of knowing one way or the other today” if he can compete. WWE officials have officially removed Rollins from upcoming international shows.
This latest injury is significant as it contrasts with a previous fake injury Rollins faked earlier this year, where he staged needing crutches. He returned unexpectedly at SummerSlam, cashing in his Money in the Bank contract.
Rollins, who has a history of injuries, previously tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus during a WWE event in 2017. Given this history, his current shoulder injury raises concerns for his championship reign. As of now, there is speculation he may need several months to recover.
For fans, the hope remains that Rollins will be healthy enough to reclaim his spot in the ring, but the recovery process will dictate his ability to participate in marquee events like WrestleMania 42.
