Helldivers 2 Patch Delayed Due to Certification Issues
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — The latest patch for Helldivers 2 has been delayed due to a certification issue, developer Arrowhead announced on their Twitter account. The patch was originally set for release on Tuesday, October 21, but was pushed back as a result of the hiccup.
Arrowhead is now aiming to release the patch by the end of this week, stating that staff members are prepared to work over the weekend if necessary. However, the studio warned that there remains a possibility the patch could be further delayed into next week.
“We’re doing everything we can to deliver it this week and will provide an update on Friday either way. Thanks for your patience and understanding,” the tweet stated.
The upcoming patch, known as the Unjust: 4.1.0 update, is designed to address over 200 bugs and improve game performance. Key adjustments are focused on enhancing stability and balancing elements to improve player experience, according to Arrowhead.
In a video featuring design director Niklas Malmborg and gameplay designer Lennart Holmgren, the developers elaborated on the patch’s objectives. “This update focuses on what matters most right now: making Helldivers 2 feel better to play,” they said, emphasizing the overhaul of their patching approach.
The patch will include optimizations for status effects, physics, artificial intelligence behaviors, and audio performance. Players can expect reduced stuttering during mission drop-ins and improvements in overall game performance.
Additionally, gun balancing adjustments will make primary weapons, sidearms, and throwables more effective, particularly in close-quarters combat. Arrowhead also focused on tweaking enemy behavior, including a decrease in the spawn rate of the formidable Terminid dragon roach.
Players eager for the patch will need to wait a bit longer, but Arrowhead’s commitment to fixing known issues has raised hopes for a smoother gaming experience.
