Las Vegas, NV — Guitarist Slash has expressed skepticism about Guns N’ Roses performing at the new Las Vegas Sphere. The venue, which opened in 2023, has hosted several major acts, but Slash feels it may not suit the band’s rock and roll style.

In a recent interview, Slash stated, “It’s not really sort of rock and roll friendly, the way that it’s set up.” He acknowledged the venue’s impressive audio and visual technology, including 15,000 square meters of LED screens and 164,000 speakers, but questioned whether it could deliver a genuine rock experience.

“Everything that I’ve seen, or most everything that I’ve seen of it, looks amazing,” he added. However, he is concerned that the focus may lean toward visuals rather than the music itself. Slash explained, “I think that in almost every case for a band, it becomes a visual show as opposed to seeing a rock and roll show.”

The Sphere has successfully hosted artists like U2, Kenny Chesney, and the Backstreet Boys for their residencies. U2 performed 40 shows at this innovative venue, demonstrating its potential for large-scale concerts.

As Guns N’ Roses continues their South American tour, they have not ruled out the possibility of future performances at the Sphere, but for now, Slash remains cautious. The band is set to perform in São Paulo, Brazil, tonight, followed by shows in other major cities across the continent until early November.

Slash concluded by emphasizing the importance of a proper environment for rock performances, signaling that the band is still evaluating their options for future gigs.
