Micah Parsons Reflects on Near Sack of Aaron Rodgers
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Micah Parsons showcased his skills on Sunday night, coming close to another sack against legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the game at Lambeau Field. Despite not recording the sack, Parsons had a memorable encounter with Rodgers that highlighted the veteran’s quick thinking.
As Parsons charged toward Rodgers, he was just seconds away from taking the quarterback down. However, Rodgers managed to release the ball just in time, using the crowd’s noise as a signal. “The one where I was hawking him down, and I was this close to getting him,” Parsons said. “Then he was like, ‘I heard the crowd.’ I was like, ‘That’s some vet s— right there.'” This play demonstrated not only Rodgers’ talent but also his ability to stay alert under pressure.
Rodgers’ quick reflexes were evident throughout the game. At one point, Packers defensive lineman Karl Brooks appeared to have a chance for a strip-sack. However, replay confirmed that Rodgers had released the ball before contact, resulting in an incomplete pass.
Even though Parsons and his teammate Rashan Gary managed to bring down Rodgers for three sacks, the close call between them became a topic for laughter after the game. Parsons chuckled, recalling how Rodgers joked with him to buy his house, a reference to the quarterback’s ongoing attempts to sell his Green Bay property.
After the game, Parsons, who now has 6.5 sacks this season, reflected positively on his interaction with Rodgers. “He was great to play against,” he said, adding a lighthearted remark about the house conversation. The respect between the two players signifies the appreciation for skill and experience in the game.
The Packers ultimately won the game 35-25, marking another successful outing for Rodgers, who may not move as swiftly as he once did, but still relies on his football intelligence to thrive.
