LOS ANGELES, CA — Actor Lee Pace, known for his role in the acclaimed Marvel franchise, spoke with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan about his role as Evan McCone in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King‘s “The Running Man.” The movie, directed by Edgar Wright, is set for release on November 14, 2025.

Pace expressed excitement about working with Josh Brolin again, who plays Dan Killian, the ruthless producer of the deadly television program in the story. He noted the similarities between the dynamics of their characters in both “The Running Man” and their previous collaboration in “Guardians of the Galaxy.” “Evan and Dan have a very similar relationship to Thanos and Ronan the Accuser,” Pace said. “Twice in a row I’m running nasty errands for Josh Brolin.”

Despite having shared scenes, Pace and Brolin do not film together, leading to an interesting working dynamic. “We only ever meet at premieres and events. It’s very funny,” he quipped. Pace also praised Brolin’s performance, stating, “He brings such a slimy, kind of manipulative energy. He’s just hard to predict what’s truthful.”

The new adaptation follows Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell, as he participates in a brutal game show where contestants, known as the Runners, must survive against deadly Hunters for a chance at a $1 billion prize. Pace highlighted Powell’s dedication, saying, “What I love about Glen Powell in this role is… he’s willing to put himself in the middle of the mess… I’m not worried about him. I just want to see him solve the problem.”

The film features a broad cast, including William H. Macy, Emilia Jones, and Colman Domingo. The original 1987 film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Ben Richards and received mixed reviews. It remains to be seen how this new adaptation will be received when it debuts in theaters later this year.
