Mike Wolfe Announces New Series ‘History’s Greatest Picks’
Nashville, TN
Mike Wolfe, best known for his role on the hit show American Pickers, has announced a new series titled History’s Greatest Picks. The news came through a social media post to his nearly 600,000 followers.
Wolfe shared a video showcasing what appears to be a bike shop. In the post, he wrote, “My crew and I are in uncharted territory. This is the first day of a new show we’re filming for @history.” He continued by describing how this series will differ from American Pickers, stating it will have a studio setting and feature stories of epic artifacts, along with expert insights and reenactments.
“There will be 8 stories per episode so it’s gonna move fast. I’m excited and nervous at the same time,” Wolfe added. He announced that the series will air in January and expressed his eagerness for fans to see it.
American Pickers has been on the air since 2010 and spans 27 seasons. The show follows Wolfe and various co-hosts as they travel across the U.S. searching for unique Americana artifacts and national treasures.
Wolfe co-hosted American Pickers with Frank Fritz until Fritz’s final episode in 2020. Fritz, who passed away earlier this year, had been friends with Wolfe since childhood. Wolfe described him as “an extremely hard worker” and noted the deep bond they shared.
Despite their friendship, Fritz faced challenges with alcohol abuse, which led to tensions between the two. Wolfe attempted to support him through his struggles, even staging an intervention. Ultimately, the network let Fritz go due to his ongoing issues, which strained their relationship.
Wolfe remains grateful for their years together and hopes to honor Fritz’s memory as he launches this new project.
