Jayden Reed’s Return Target Set for Thanksgiving
Green Bay, WI — Receiver Jayden Reed of the Green Bay Packers is targeting a return to the field around Thanksgiving, according to a report by Tom Silverstein from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Reed is currently recovering from a foot injury, which has fully healed, but he is still waiting for clearance on his collarbone injury. The Packers have several players on their injured reserve, including running back MarShawn Lloyd, who is dealing with hamstring and groin injuries.
Lloyd has consulted multiple specialists to address imbalances in his body that may be contributing to his injuries. The Packers maintain a close relationship with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where players Christian Watson and Eric Stokes also received evaluations for their injuries.
Defensive ends Brenton Cox Jr. and Colin Oliver are also nearing a return. However, the team has decided not to open their practice windows until necessary. Currently, the Packers have six defensive ends on the 53-man roster. Lukas Van Ness is expected to return soon from a foot injury, though it remains uncertain if Cox and Oliver will be activated this season.
Oliver underwent surgery on his hamstring. Initially, head coach Matt LaFleur had indicated that the injury was not long-term, but that assessment has changed.
Currently, Reed, Lloyd, and Cox are on the team’s injured reserve list. Oliver is listed on the physically unable to perform list. Each season, the Packers can designate only eight players for return from injured reserve, with Lloyd already designated and offensive lineman Jacob Monk activated to the roster.
