Gerry Turner Faces Allegations from Ex-Wife Amid Memoir Release
Petersburg, Indiana — Gerry Turner, known as the first ‘Golden Bachelor,’ is under scrutiny following allegations made by his ex-wife, Theresa Nist. Nist claims Turner threatened her during their short marriage, stating he would ‘chop her up’ and hide her body in a shed. This shocking revelation was shared on a podcast episode aired on November 4.
Nist recalled a disturbing conversation they had while walking near Pretty Lake. ‘He said, ‘You see that shed up there? That’s where I’m going to hide your body after I kill you and chop you up,’’ she reported. Though she acknowledged the dark nature of his comment, Nist believes it was not a literal threat. ‘I don’t think that was true… But it just spoke to an underlying feeling about me,’ she added.
The allegations come shortly after Turner released his memoir, ‘Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV.’ In the book, he reflects on his public marriage to Nist, which lasted only three months after they wed in January 2024 during a televised ceremony.
Turner admitted in an interview that marrying Nist was a ‘monumental mistake’ and expressed regret for how things unfolded. ‘I rushed into a wedding I didn’t believe in,’ he stated, acknowledging the pain his actions caused to both Nist and his family.
Following their marriage, Turner filed for divorce in April 2024, citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’ ‘We kind of came to the conclusion mutually that it’s time for us to dissolve our marriage,’ he said.
Nist has voiced her discontent with Turner’s portrayal of their relationship in his memoir, insisting that he should have called off the wedding if he had reservations. ‘You did me no favors by marrying a woman that you did not want to marry,’ she criticized. ‘He really tried to make it work, and any little thing that I did that he thought wasn’t right, he lashed out at me.’
Now, Turner is reportedly moving on in his life. He announced his engagement to Lana Sutton in October, expressing a newfound appreciation for life following a cancer diagnosis. ‘With Lana now in the picture, she makes life even better,’ he declared. Turner’s journey continues to draw public interest, especially as he navigates the complexities of love and relationships after reality television fame.
