HyunA Faints During Performance at Macau Music Festival
MACAU, China — South Korean singer HyunA collapsed while performing at the Waterbomb 2025 festival in Macau on November 9. The incident occurred during her hit song ‘Bubble Pop,’ prompting immediate concern from fans and fellow performers.
Footage from the festival shows HyunA, 30, appearing unsteady before losing consciousness and collapsing on stage. Dancers quickly rushed to her aid, and a bodyguard carried her off the stage as the audience looked on in shock.
Fans expressed worry for HyunA’s health, particularly following her recent Instagram post revealing a weight loss of about 10 kilograms (22 pounds) in one month. She announced her dieting plan earlier in October amid speculation about her health, which has raised concerns due to her history of vasovagal fainting—a condition characterized by sudden drops in heart rate.
In a heartfelt Instagram message later that day, HyunA apologized to her fans. “I’m really sorry. I wanted to give a good performance, but I feel like I wasn’t professional. Honestly, I don’t remember anything,” she wrote. She stressed her gratitude for the support she has received over the years, adding, “I’ll work on building up my stamina and keep trying my best.”
HyunA also reassured her followers, stating, “I’m really okay! Don’t worry about me!” This is not the first instance of HyunA discussing her health struggles, as she has previously spoken about fainting spells triggered by her weight.
In addition to her health, HyunA made headlines recently for her marriage to Yong Jun-hyung in October 2024, further highlighting her busy schedule as a performer.
