Clippers’ Beal Faces Possible Extended Absence Due to Hip Injury
Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Clippers are worried that Bradley Beal may miss extended time due to a left hip injury. Head coach Tyronn Lue shared this information with reporters before Monday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Beal is currently undergoing tests to assess the severity of the injury, which was initially reported as left hip soreness, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. The situation raises concerns, especially since Beal mentioned on Friday in Phoenix that he’s been dealing with an unspecified injury since last season when he played for the Suns.
The 32-year-old Beal has faced numerous injuries in recent years, playing between 40 and 60 games each season for the past six years. His absence could significantly impact the Clippers’ performance moving forward.
In other news regarding the Clippers, Lue confirmed that Jalen Collins made his first start with the team on Monday. Lue intends to keep Collins in the starting lineup “for a while,” as the team struggles with rebounding.
“We’ve been struggling rebounding the basketball, and career-wise, he’s been a really good rebounder,” Lue noted. Collins will enter free agency next summer if he does not sign a veteran extension.
As the Clippers navigate these injury challenges, they continue to seek ways to improve their performance on the court.
