Matthew McConaughey Teams with ElevenLabs to Expand Voice Technology

NEW YORK, NY – Actor Matthew McConaughey announced he is investing an undisclosed amount in ElevenLabs, an AI audio company based in New York, to enhance voice technology. McConaughey has been collaborating with ElevenLabs since its founding in 2022.

Through this partnership, McConaughey will use ElevenLabs’ technology to launch a Spanish-language audio version of his newsletter, “Lyrics of Livin’.” He expressed excitement about the project, stating, “Now, thanks to ElevenLabs, ‘Lyrics of Livin” is expanding with a Spanish language edition, allowing us to reach and connect with even more people.”

McConaughey praised the team at ElevenLabs for their innovative approach, saying, “I’ve been impressed by how the ElevenLabs team has taken the magic of the core technology and turned it into products that creators, enterprises and storytellers use daily.”

Alongside McConaughey, 92-year-old British actor Michael Caine also joined ElevenLabs’ new Iconic Voice Marketplace. This platform allows companies to seek approval to use celebrity voices for projects. Caine, who has lent his voice to many inspiring stories, commented, “ElevenLabs is at the forefront of technology, using innovation not to replace humanity, but to celebrate it.”

The Iconic Voice Marketplace includes notable voices such as Liza Minelli, Judy Garland, and Maya Angelou. ElevenLabs aims to ethically source and license these recognizable voices, allowing for responsible media creation.

CEO Mati Staniszewski highlighted that the marketplace connects companies with celebrity voice talents for creative initiatives. He emphasized that advancements in voice technology can responsibly expand opportunities for studios and talent, enhancing storytelling.

Recently, ElevenLabs announced a $100 million tender offer to cash out employee stocks, valuing the company at $6.6 billion. With over 330 employees, up from 70 last year, ElevenLabs continues to grow its presence in the AI audio industry.
