Inter Milan Set to Face AC Milan in Derby della Madonnina
MILAN, Italy — Inter Milan and AC Milan are preparing for their first Derby della Madonnina of the season on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at San Siro. The match is significant in the tight Serie A title race, with Inter leading the league and looking to reinforce their position.
Inter approach this derby with a two-point advantage over their rivals, sharing first place with Bologna and Roma. They enter the match on the heels of a 2-0 victory against Lazio, where Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny scored. Despite injuries sidelining Denzel Dumfries and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Cristian Chivu’s squad remains confident.
“We’ve had a strong showing lately, but we know the history of the derby,” said Chivu during a pre-match press conference. Inter has lost three of their last five encounters against Milan, which could weigh on their minds as they step onto the pitch.
Milan meanwhile comes into the derby riding an 11-game unbeaten streak. Coach Massimiliano Allegri emphasized the importance of the match, but downplayed title aspirations, focusing instead on securing a top-four finish.
“Our goal is to grow as a team,” Allegri stated. Milan fans still carry the joy of last season when their team triumphed over Inter three times, including in the Supercoppa Italiana.
In their last match, Milan held Parma to a 2-2 draw but claimed a crucial victory over Roma earlier this month. With their current momentum, fans are hopeful for a successful outing against Inter.
The predicted line-ups for the match are as follows: Inter Milan (3-5-2): Sommer; Akanji, Bisseck, Bastoni; Augusto, Barella, Çalhanoğlu, Sucic, Dimarco; Martinez, Thuram. AC Milan (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.
Kickoff is scheduled for 20:45 CET, as both teams aim for victory in this critical fixture.
