Indian actor Aasif Sheikh recently reminisced about an incident involving Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his encounter with the traffic police due to rash driving. The anecdote was shared during an interview with The Lallantop, where Aasif discussed his past experiences while filming the movie “Bandhan” in 1998.

Aasif Sheikh, who has featured alongside Salman in multiple films, narrated a particular episode where Salman, who was known for his carefree driving habits, was caught driving on the footpath. Aasif recalled, “We were young then, and Salman had an Esteem at that time. He made me sit next to him, driving everywhere—on the footpath and on the road.” Aasif expressed concern and warned Salman, saying, ‘Salman, pakde jayenge (we will get caught).’ Salman, however, brushed off the worry, assuring Aasif that being with a superstar like him would be nothing of concern.

Despite Salman’s confidence, they were pulled over by a traffic officer who surprisingly did not recognize the actor. Aasif humorously recounted, “He rolled down the window and the traffic police actually did not recognize him. Salman, realizing this, jokingly suggested to Aasif to remove his shirt to perhaps get recognized, hinting at Salman’s well-known physique.

Aasif Sheikh has shared the screen with Salman Khan in several well-known films including “Karan Arjun” (1995), “Auzaar” (1997), and “Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha” (2004). Apart from his film appearances, Aasif is recognized for his extensive work in Indian television series such as “Hum Log,” “Yes Boss,” and “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain.”

Salman Khan, who made his cinematic debut with “Biwi Ho To Aisi” (1988), rose to stardom with blockbuster hits such as “Maine Pyar Kiya” (1989) and “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” (1994). His career continued to flourish with films like “Dabangg” (2010) and the recent “Tiger 3” (2023).

In a separate incident on the set of “Auzaar” in Hyderabad, Aasif recalled another episode involving Salman’s enthusiastic driving. Aasif mentioned that a friend had come to visit him on set in a new car, and Salman playfully drove rashly to surprise the friend, who refrained from reacting presumably due to the superstar’s presence.

These stories emerged amidst discussions of Salman Khan’s past legal troubles related to a hit-and-run case in 2002, which tragically resulted in one death and three injuries. However, in 2015, Salman was acquitted of all charges due to lack of evidence.

Aasif Sheikh’s anecdotes offer a glimpse into Salman Khan’s notorious off-screen persona and his camaraderie with co-stars, characterized by the playful yet sometimes reckless behavior the actor seemed to embrace during his younger days.
