Actor Andrew Scott Walks Away from Awkward Interview on Red Carpet
Andrew Scott made a quick exit from an uncomfortable interview on the red carpet after being bombarded with inappropriate queries by BBC’s entertainment correspondent, Colin Paterson. The incident happened as the star was attending the British Academy Film Awards.
During the interview, Paterson repeatedly questioned Scott about his thoughts on Barry Keoghan‘s nude performance in the movie Saltburn. Scott, visibly uncomfortable, tried to dodge the questions, but Paterson persisted, even inquiring about the accuracy of the prosthetic used in the scene.
Keoghan, known for his bold acting choices, had stunned fans with a full-frontal nude dance scene in Saltburn, a thriller directed by Emerald Fennell. The film has been generating buzz due to its controversial content, including this particular scene.
In a recent interview, Keoghan revealed that he had not used a prosthetic for the scene and had willingly embraced the nudity at the director’s request. The scene, set to Sophie Ellis-Bextor‘s iconic track, showcased Keoghan’s character celebrating his newfound ownership in a grand mansion.
Scott, who was also nominated for his role in All Of Us Strangers, faced backlash on social media for the awkward interview. Many fans expressed support for the actor and criticized the line of questioning as inappropriate and distasteful.
At the prestigious British Academy Film Awards, Scott was seen alongside his co-star Paul Mescal, who was also nominated for his role in the same film. The event saw notable winners like Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, and director Christopher Nolan.
David Tennant, the host for the evening, brought a unique flair to the event, starting the show with an unconventional co-host – Michael Sheen‘s dog, Bark Ruffalo. Despite the awkward interview incident, the awards ceremony was a night of celebration for the British film industry.
