LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Francisco San Martin, an actor best known for his roles on NBC’s *Days of Our Lives* and CBS’s *The Bold and the Beautiful*, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was 39. The cause of death was determined to be suicide by hanging, according to the Hollywood LA News.

San Martin, born in Mallorca, Spain, and raised in Montana, began his acting career in children’s theater productions. After moving to Madrid in his teens, he pursued modeling and acting, eventually appearing in Spanish stage, television, and film productions. He gained recognition in the U.S. for his role as Dario Hernandez on *Days of Our Lives* from 2010 to 2011, and later reprised the role briefly in 2017.

In 2017, San Martin also appeared in 16 episodes of *The Bold and the Beautiful* as Mateo, a Forrester Manor staffer. That same year, he played Fabian Regalo del Cielo in seven episodes of *Jane the Virgin*, a role that showcased his versatility in primetime television.

Camila Banus, his *Days of Our Lives* co-star, paid tribute to San Martin on Instagram, writing, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. My only witness that pau sang happy birthday to me in the middle of a concert in Hollywood, you couldn’t believe it. Love you mucho mucho mucho; I wish I had told you more.”
