Hollywood Demons Documentary Series Actor

LOS ANGELES, March 24, 2025 — Actor London discusses a tumultuous period in his career and personal life in the new six-part Investigation Discovery documentary series, Hollywood Demons. The series illuminates the challenges he faced while battling drug addiction during his time on the popular TV show 7th Heaven.

The premiere episode, titled ‘Stephen Collins, America’s Dad,’ highlights the allegations of sexual misconduct against 7th Heaven star Stephen Collins, which came to light in 2012. Two years later, Collins publicly acknowledged having inappropriate sexual conduct with three female minors between 1973 and 1994, according to a statement given to PEOPLE.

London, who played Chandler Hampton on 7th Heaven starting in 2002, shared his experiences alongside fellow cast member Kyle Searles. Reflecting on his time on the show, London said, ‘I can’t say that working on 7th Heaven was a very positive experience for me. I left 7th Heaven because I got fired.’ His struggles coincided with crises in his personal life.

In the documentary, London described an incident where he fought with his then-girlfriend Melissa Cunningham while driving on the 405 freeway: ‘We were yelling and screaming over something that we shouldn’t even have been fighting over. And that literally in that moment changed everything.’

Following that incident, London faced allegations of domestic violence, which he asserts misrepresented his character. ‘I got turned into a…people were saying really horrible things about me. And all of a sudden, I was a bad person when I wasn’t,’ he recalled. The emotional weight of those accusations was evident when London broke down during the interview, stating, ‘Hollywood abandoned me and chose to believe lies about me.’

London’s experiences in Hollywood shaped his perspective on the dangers of public scrutiny, as he reflected, ‘The world is watching always, and it wants to eat you. And it wants you to fail.’

Throughout the episode, London shares the impact of past scandals on his view of Collins. Initially, he was reluctant to believe the allegations against Collins, saying, ‘At first, I was hearing buzzing of it, but I was not putting it with my Stephen Collins. You don’t accuse saints of this.’ However, he acknowledged, ‘Something happened. I don’t know what happened.’

Expressing concern for victims, London added, ‘It’s tough. It’s hard. I’m a dad, first and foremost. And so my first thoughts always go to the children. Steven Collins would be a dead man if that was my child.’

The first episode of Hollywood Demons premieres Monday, March 24, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET/PT on Investigation Discovery and will stream on Max.
