Actor Sayaji Shinde Joins Ajit Pawar’s NCP in Maharashtra
With the state assembly elections looming, political developments in Maharashtra have gained momentum. As the election code of conduct is expected to be announced soon, political leaders across all major parties are intensifying their campaign efforts. Meetings and rallies are becoming frequent as politicians try to consolidate their presence in various constituencies. A wave of party-switching among politicians marks this period, reflecting strategic realignments ahead of the elections.
In a noteworthy development, actor Sayaji Shinde officially joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar on October 10. This announcement was made during a press conference in Mumbai, attended by key figures, including Sunil Tatkare, Praful Patel, and Chhagan Bhujbal, who are prominent members of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
Sayaji Shinde, renowned for his roles in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil films, has also been active in social endeavors, notably the Sahyadri Devrai project, which involved extensive tree planting. His social work has been recognized and appreciated across the state. Shinde’s shift to political life marks a new phase for the actor, who participated in a formal joining ceremony in the presence of Ajit Pawar, signifying his strategic move into the political arena by donning the party’s emblematic wristwatch symbol.
At the event, Minister Chhagan Bhujbal lauded Shinde’s contributions, stating, “Sayaji Shinde has left a significant mark not only in cinema, across multiple languages, but also in social work with initiatives like tree plantation. Now, with his political entry, today feels like Dussehra, despite it being tomorrow.” This comment underscores the excitement and strategic importance of Shinde’s political debut for his new party.
