Yoruba actress Toyosi Adesanya recently participated in a deeply emotional conversation on her colleague Biola Adebayo’s talk show, where she openly discussed the struggles she faced in her marriage and the haunting experiences that accompanied her attempts to become a mother.

Adesanya revealed that in 2007, she experienced a series of bizarre miscarriages, one of which occurred after a disturbing dream where she saw herself surrounded by blood. Recounting her ordeal, she explained how her senior colleague, Fathia Balogun, counseled her to seek spiritual help to address the mysterious circumstances of her miscarriages.

Following Balogun’s advice, Adesanya visited a traditional healer who provided her with fertility herbs. Initially optimistic about the results, she was left devastated when she miscarried again, despite believing that the herbs had initially succeeded. Desperate to find answers, Adesanya underwent numerous medical tests, but doctors were unable to diagnose the cause of her repeated miscarriages.

In her pursuit of motherhood, Adesanya turned to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) multiple times, but each attempt ended in failure. Her most heartrending experience was when she finally carried a pregnancy to full term, only to tragically lose the baby shortly after birth.

During this difficult period, Adesanya’s personal life was further upended by the revelation that her husband had impregnated another woman. She admitted that this betrayal was almost too much to bear, but with the unwavering support of friends, she was encouraged to prioritize her health and avoid letting the situation affect her wellbeing.
