Acura Rsx Ev Charging Tesla Supercharger

LOS ANGELES, CA — Acura‘s upcoming RSX electric vehicle, set to launch in the second half of 2026, was recently spotted charging at a Tesla Supercharger. This sighting marks a significant step towards the brand’s commitment to electric vehicles and highlights its preparation for the North American market.

The RSX, which debuted at Monterey Car Week in August, will be Acura’s first model built on Honda‘s new in-house Zero EV platform. This model will also roll off the assembly line at Honda’s EV hub in Ohio, alongside the Acura Integra. Unlike its predecessor, the new RSX aims for a sporty crossover SUV design rather than a traditional sedan.

Photos from the charging station reveal the vehicle’s aggressive styling, featuring a broad stance and a coupe-like silhouette. Key design elements include a ducktail-style rear spoiler, flush door handles, and prominent front Brembo brakes. The front end showcases a redesigned Diamond Pentagon grille and a unique headlight configuration, while the rear is adorned with a full-length light bar and a new ACURA logo across the tailgate.

The prototype, still covered in camouflage, suggests that Acura is testing its compatibility with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS). The photos were shared by Shubham Gajjar, who noted the vehicle’s plugged into a Supercharger, indicating efforts to integrate NACS into future Acura models.

Honda has confirmed that the RSX will come equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, although specific battery details remain undisclosed. Acura’s current electric offerings include the ZDX for the 2026 model year, alongside the Prologue as its only other EV in the U.S. market.

The unveiling of the RSX EV is highly anticipated as it is an essential part of Acura’s strategy to revitalize its brand with electric offerings. Furthermore, the RSX is expected to feature Honda’s new ASIMO OS operating system, which promises to enhance the driving experience with advanced driver-assist technologies and machine learning capabilities for personalization.

As Acura prepares for the RSX launch, it is also offering significant discounts on existing EV models, reaching up to $16,550 off the MSRP. This initiative aligns with Honda’s broader strategy to promote electric vehicle adoption.
