Adriana Lima Makes Triumphant Return to Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
After a six-year hiatus, supermodel Adriana Lima is set to make a highly anticipated return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The announcement was made through a fun and engaging video posted on Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram page, where Lima gets into a taxi and asks the driver to drop her off at the Victoria’s Secret show, culminating in her facing the camera and declaring, “I’m back!”.
Lima’s history with Victoria’s Secret spans over two decades, beginning in 2000. She had announced her retirement from the brand in November 2018 after participating in 18 fashion shows. Her final show at the time was particularly significant, as she expressed her enduring excitement and love for being on the runway.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was canceled in 2019 due to backlash over body diversity issues, made a comeback in 2021 with the launch of the VS Collective. This initiative aimed to align the brand more closely with what women want, emphasizing diversity and inclusivity. Lima’s return marks another milestone in the brand’s evolution, reflecting its commitment to celebrating women at all stages of life.
The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on October 15 at 7 p.m. ET and can be livestreamed on Prime Video, as well as on Victoria’s Secret’s YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram channels. The event will also feature a Pink Carpet livestream starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Lima’s comeback has been met with enthusiasm from her peers, with models like Gigi Hadid, Jasmine Tookes, and Camila Coelho expressing their excitement and support on social media).
