Aegean Airlines Promotes Chios as a Travel Destination

CHIOS, Greece — A significant promotion opportunity for Chios emerged with the recent visit by Aegean Airlines’ Marketing and Online Communication department. Over three days, airline executives were hosted by the Municipality of Chios, the North Aegean Region, the Chios Private Tourism Organization, the Municipality’s Tourism Office, and local professionals.
The program included visits to mastic villages, medieval alleys, and hiking trails, as well as wine tastings, cooking workshops, and stops at beaches and historical monuments. The mission aimed to gather material for promotional activities and posts on Aegean’s social media platforms to showcase Chios to thousands of potential travelers both in Greece and abroad.
Local organizations view this collaboration as a “huge opportunity for extroversion,” further enhancing Chios’s strategy to promote the island as an authentic destination with diverse offerings. This initiative follows the “3+1 nights” program, which offers travelers an additional night at no cost in participating accommodations. According to local officials, this effort has received positive feedback, boosted the local economy, and highlighted the island’s hospitality.
As Aegean Airlines continues its promotional efforts, the focus on Chios could attract more visitors in the coming seasons.
