Former AFL star Peter Daicos, known for his prolific career at Collingwood Football Club, is showcasing his resilience and warmth on the popular reality show, I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

Daicos, who played 250 games and scored 549 goals during his illustrious 14-year AFL career, recently shared a heartwarming moment from his final game where he carried his daughter Madison around the iconic MCG against AFL protocol.

Having defied expectations throughout his playing days, Daicos shared the touching memory with his campmates in the jungle, reminiscing about the historic lap of honor that has become a tradition among retiring players.

Reflecting on the iconic moment, Daicos’ wife Colleen fondly recalled the day at the MCG where Madison, just one year old at the time, was handed over to her father for the memorable lap around the field.

The Daicos family’s connection to the Collingwood Football Club runs deep, with sons Josh and Nick also making a mark with the Magpies, including their recent triumph in the 2023 AFL Grand Final.

Initially hesitant to join I’m A Celebrity due to the separation from his family during filming, Daicos ultimately saw an opportunity to raise awareness for the Neurofibromatosis Foundation, a cause close to his heart as a charity ambassador along with his sons.

With the Daicos family rallying behind Peter during his jungle adventure, including their beloved toy cavoodle Odell, Colleen and Madison expressed pride in watching him on TV and eagerly await his return to share in their family moments once again.

Peter Daicos’ down-to-earth nature and genuine camaraderie have endeared him to his campmates and viewers alike, showcasing the true essence of a sporting legend both on and off the field.
