Akaash Singh Defends Wife Jasleen Amid Podcast Controversy
NEW YORK, NY — Indian American comedian Akaash Singh is standing by his wife, Jasleen Singh, after a recent podcast episode sparked controversy online. The heated exchange involves Myron Gaines, co-host of the Fresh and Fit podcast, who criticized Jasleen’s candid discussions on her show, Main Character Podcast.
The drama escalated after Gaines shared clips from Jasleen’s podcast, featuring open conversations about relationships and personal experiences, including her views on finances in marriage. Many, including Gaines, took issue with her comments, leading to widespread discussions across social media.
Akaash, known for his raw comedic style, swiftly responded on his own podcast, Flagrant, where he reaffirmed his support for Jasleen. He accused Gaines of hypocrisy, reminding his audience that Gaines had previously faced backlash for comments seen as derogatory towards Black women.
“My man out here getting triggered by jokes. How ironic,” Akaash tweeted in response to Gaines’ remarks. He emphasized the importance of honesty and maturity in discussing personal relationships.
Jasleen Singh, who co-hosts the Main Character Podcast, is also a finance graduate from Drexel University and has an extensive career in media. She addressed the backlash directly in a TikTok video, labeling critics as “red pill podcast guys” and asserting her right to share personal stories.
The pair first met in 2015 at one of Akaash’s comedy shows in Hoboken. Their relationship has grown over the years, culminating in their marriage in 2021. The couple has been navigating the intense spotlight on their personal lives, highlighting the challenges public figures face when sharing insights about their private histories.
The online feud has not only reignited past tensions between Akaash and Gaines but also opened discussions about appropriate boundaries for public figures in sharing personal narratives.
