Alan Alda Celebrates Netflix Reboot of ‘The Four Seasons’ in NYC

New York City, NY — Alan Alda expressed his enthusiasm for the Netflix reboot of “The Four Seasons” during a premiere event on Saturday night. The series is inspired by Alda’s 1981 classic film of the same name.
Alda attended the event to support Tina Fey, who serves as the series’ star and co-showrunner alongside Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher. During the evening, Alda made an impromptu speech praising Fey’s adaptation.
“I just wanted to tell Tina in front of as many people as I can how beautiful the job is that she did on this series,” Alda said, receiving a warm response from the audience. “For somebody as talented and knowledgeable and skilled as Tina is, to make an adaptation of something that meant so much to me, this movie all those years ago, to see her turn it into something for today, only she could have done it with her partners and her team and it makes me so happy to be honored by her like this.”
Tina Fey, visibly moved by the compliment, knelt to kiss Alda on the cheek. She then shared a playful remark, saying, “Alan, you stole my thunder. Really, I was about to say that it cannot be overstated what an absolute icon and influence you are.”
The reboot of “The Four Seasons” is a romantic comedy that chronicles the lives of three married couples throughout the four seasons, showcasing the complexities of their relationships. The original film featured Alda alongside Rita Moreno and Carol Burnett, with Alda handling both writing and directing duties.
Fey’s version will highlight a close-knit group of friends on four vacations and stars Fey, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, and Steve Carell. The Netflix series will be available for streaming starting May 1.
