Alice In Chains Concert Mohegan Sun Arena

Uncasville, ConnecticutAlice in Chains has canceled its concert scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Mohegan Sun Arena after drummer Sean Kinney experienced a non-life-threatening medical emergency during soundcheck.

The band announced the cancellation in a statement on social media, expressing their regret for the situation. “We unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Refunds are available at the point of purchase,” the statement read.

Details regarding Kinney’s condition have not been disclosed, but the emergency arose just before the band was set to take the stage. Kinney, who co-founded Alice in Chains in 1987, is one of only two original members of the band still active, alongside guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

This performance was meant to mark the start of Alice in Chains’ 2025 tour and their first concert since an April 2024 show in Las Vegas. The band is also scheduled to play at various festivals this month, including MMRBQ in Camden, New Jersey, on May 10 and Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, on May 11.

In addition to upcoming festival dates, Alice in Chains is set to perform at the final concert of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on July 5. Fans are hopeful that this cancellation will not impact the rest of the band’s tour dates.

Alice in Chains gained notoriety in the early ’90s with hits such as “Man in the Box” and “Rooster.” After a hiatus following the death of lead singer Layne Staley in 2002, the band reunited in 2006 with William DuVall as the new frontman and has since released several successful albums.

As the health of their drummer is a priority, fans will be keeping an eye on updates regarding Kinney and Alice in Chains’ future performances.
