“All American” Season 7 Premieres with New Cast, Fresh Plotline

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The CW Network‘s hit sports drama “All American” returns for its seventh season, premiering with a one-hour sneak peek on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. ET. The series, inspired by the life of former NFL linebacker Spencer Paysinger, continues to captivate audiences with its compelling storytelling and dynamic characters.
Since its debut in 2018, “All American” has followed the journey of Spencer James, a rising high school football star navigating the challenges of life on and off the field. The show’s sixth season concluded with significant changes, including the departure of lead actor Daniel Ezra, who portrayed Spencer James. However, the character’s exit is not a tragic one; instead, the series shifts its focus to new storylines and characters.
Season 7 will delve deeper into the life of Jordan Baker, played by Michael Evans Behling, as he grapples with balancing his roles as a coach and a friend. The season’s official synopsis teases new conflicts, secrets, and challenges for the characters, including Kingston‘s discovery of a family secret and Khalil‘s fight against the school system.
“All American” Season 7 will feature 13 episodes, airing weekly on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, starting Feb. 3. Viewers without cable can stream episodes the day after their live airing on The CW mobile app.
The new season introduces a fresh cast lineup following the departure of six regular cast members, including Samantha Logan (Olivia Baker), Cody Christian (Asher Adams), and Karimah Westbrook (Grace James). Despite these changes, the show promises to maintain its signature blend of drama, sports, and heartfelt storytelling.
Fans are encouraged to catch up on the first six seasons, available for streaming, to fully appreciate the context of Season 7. The series has consistently ranked as one of The CW’s most-watched shows, drawing praise for its authentic portrayal of youth, ambition, and resilience.
Greta Cross, a national trending reporter at USA TODAY, highlights the show’s enduring appeal. “‘All American’ continues to resonate with audiences because it tackles real-life issues with honesty and depth,” she said. “Season 7 promises to deliver more of the drama and excitement that fans have come to love.”
