Allegiant Air Trenton Mercer Airport Expansion

EWING, N.J. — Allegiant Air will launch new nonstop service from Trenton-Mercer Airport beginning in February 2026 as part of a major nationwide expansion.

The Las Vegas-based airline announced this week that it will begin offering three nonstop routes to Florida, marking its return to Trenton-Mercer Airport after cutting service in April 2018. Since then, Frontier Airlines has been the sole carrier at the Ewing-based airport.

“Our mission has always been to connect travelers to world-class destinations at an affordable price,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, in a statement. “These additions provide convenient options for leisure travelers and reflect our commitment to expanding service where demand is strong.”

As part of this expansion, Allegiant will add 30 new routes across the U.S. and enter four new markets, including La Crosse, Wis., Columbia, Mo., and Philadelphia. Introductory fares for new routes start as low as $39 one way.

The airline plans to operate flights from Trenton-Mercer Airport to several Florida destinations beginning in mid-February, in addition to expanding service in other regions. Allegiant aims to strengthen its strategy of linking smaller cities to popular leisure destinations.

For La Crosse Regional Airport, Allegiant will start nonstop flights to Mesa, Ariz., on Feb. 6, 2026, and to Sanford, Fla., on May 21, 2026. One-way fares will begin at $69.

JD Roberts, director of La Crosse Regional Airport, expressed confidence in Allegiant’s decision, calling it a testament to teamwork and recognition of strong market demand.

In Philadelphia, Allegiant also plans to introduce routes to three Midwestern cities. Additionally, new service will start in cities such as Fort Lauderdale, Gulf Shores, Burbank, Santa Ana, Myrtle Beach, Bloomington, Key West, and Denver.

The full list of new routes will be made available on Allegiant’s website.
