Amazon’s ‘Jury Duty’ Returns for Thrilling Season 2 Set at Corporate Retreat

LOS ANGELES, CA — Amazon‘s comedy series “Jury Duty” is set to return for a second season on Prime Video, as confirmed by industry sources. The unexpected revival follows its success on the now-defunct streamer Freevee after its debut in 2023.
According to reports, the upcoming season will shift its focus from the courtroom to a corporate retreat setting. Filming for the new episodes has already taken place in Agoura Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles.
The first season of “Jury Duty” introduced audiences to Ronald Gladden, who unknowingly participated in a fabricated trial surrounded by actors portraying jurors, a judge, and courtroom personnel. The ruse led to a humorous exploration of the American judicial system, culminating in Gladden’s discovery of the show’s elaborate prank.
Cody Heller, the showrunner for Season 1, expressed her initial trepidation about the candid camera concept. “I was terrified,” she said. “There was something about that fear of failure that ignited something in myself. But in the end, the success came from the cast. Ronald Gladden restored my faith in humanity.”
James Marsden, who played a heightened version of himself in the series, reflected on the unique challenges of filming, stating, “You get one take. If he sees a hidden camera, the whole thing is upended. That was really exciting to me.”
The show’s creators, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, are returning as executive producers for the forthcoming season, alongside Heller and several others who contributed to the first season’s success.
As the new outing leaves behind the courtroom for the dynamics of workplace humor, little is known about whether Gladden or Marsden will reprise their roles. Speculations suggest that the character dynamics may evolve, potentially introducing new cast members to the mix.
Since the show’s debut, Gladden has signed a two-year deal with Amazon MGM Studios to produce and star in a variety of content, emphasizing the positive themes that his experience with “Jury Duty” highlighted. His journey on the show has continued to attract interest, having displayed a unique blend of humor and kindness.
While no specific premiere date has been announced for Season 2, its recent completion of filming indicates that fans might not have to wait long for new episodes. Expectations are high following the critical acclaim and awards recognition the series garnered during its first season.
As more information unfolds regarding the new season’s release and details, viewers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates from Amazon Prime Video.
