Mrbeast Competition Series Casting News

Los Angeles, CA – Amazon Prime Video is moving forward with additional seasons of MrBeast‘s competition series. Deadline reports that the streaming service is currently casting for Season 2. Although there has been no formal renewal announcement, sources suggest that talks of a two-season order are underway.

During a panel at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles, the head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios hinted at the plan for more seasons. ‘We’re going to do a couple more seasons of that, I think, soon,’ he stated, praising the company’s success in the creator economy.

MrBeast, known as Jimmy Donaldson, gave away $25 million in prize money in the original series, which premiered in December. He expressed excitement about potentially handing out more cash during an interview for Deadline’s Contenders TV. He teased that ‘another 10 seasons could happen.’

The competition show features 1,000 contestants who engage in various physical, mental, and social challenges to win a grand prize, initially set at $5 million. It quickly became a hit, becoming Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted series, amassing 50 million viewers globally within its first 25 days.

Fellow panelist Sean Klitzner, a co-creator and executive producer of the show, also addressed the project’s future, asserting that there is ‘an unlimited amount of good ideas.’ He noted, ‘If there’s a good idea in front of us, and there’s a YouTube video that needs it, we’re going to film it for the YouTube video.’ Klitzner emphasized that more good ideas are always nearby.

MrBeast has gained significant popularity, reaching over 244 million subscribers on YouTube, making him the platform’s most-subscribed creator. His rise started at the age of 13, and he gained fame in 2017 when a video of him counting to 100,000 went viral. MrBeast’s innovative content and generous giveaways continue to attract a massive audience.

His representation is with UTA. Peter White contributed to this report.
